Resident Story

Donna June Vanvorhis recently completed her rehabilitation at Willows at Bowling Green after a challenging battle with pancreatitis. Following a six-day hospital stay, Donna found herself unable to return home and instead came to Willows for the care and support she needed. Before her illness, Donna was an active and independent woman, driving herself around, handling all her household chores, and actively participating in her local senior center and church. The sudden shift from independence to relying entirely on the Willows staff was a significant adjustment, but Donna faced it with determination and hope.

During her time at Willows, Donna set her sights on regaining her mobility and independence. With the help of the professional and helpful therapy team, she worked tirelessly to improve her strength, balance, and overall functionality. Donna’s hard work paid off, as she is now able to use her walker safely, navigate steps, and manage her daily activities with confidence. She speaks fondly of the upbeat and pleasant environment at Willows, crediting the staff’s positivity and support for her successful recovery. Donna is now ready to return home, grateful for the care and camaraderie she experienced during her rehabilitation journey.
