"This has been the best place!"
Resident Story
Fred Haas recently completed a remarkable journey at The Glen with Synchrony Rehab, overcoming significant medical challenges to regain his independence. Fred had been living independently with his wife, enjoying his retirement and spending time in his study as a former high school teacher. However, in April, a hospital visit for kidney stones led to complications, including sepsis and bradycardia, which left Fred requiring the assistance of two people and a wheelchair for mobility. Determined to walk again and return home to his wife, Fred was driven by an unwavering motivation to recover.
Despite the setbacks, Fred’s dedication, combined with the support of his wife and family, proved instrumental in his rehabilitation. The therapists at The Glen, whom Fred describes as treating him as a whole person rather than just an elderly patient, played a crucial role in his recovery. After countless hours of hard work and perseverance, Fred achieved his goals, regaining the ability to walk with a walker and returning home with home health services. Reflecting on his experience, Fred expresses his gratitude for the care he received, declaring The Glen as “the best place” for his recovery. Now, Fred is back home, enjoying life with his wife and the independence he fought so hard to reclaim.
