Two well-known local executives have joined the C-suite of a Louisville-based health care company.
Randy Bufford, founder of Trilogy Health Services, will serve as president and CEO of Synchrony Health Services, a subsidiary of Trilogy, according to a Synchrony news release.
Brad Estes, who on Monday announced his departure as president of Soccer Holdings LLC, the parent company of Louisville City FC, will join Synchrony as chief financial officer, according to the company.
This marks a return to the Trilogy family for Estes, who previously held the title of vice president of finance and IT at the company, according to an email from Trilogy.
In addition, Synchrony Health Services will now include Synchrony Pharmacy, Synchrony Rehabilitation, Synchrony Wellness Pharmacy and Synchrony Lab under its umbrella, according to the release.
Synchrony Health Services was created during 2019 to capture clinical excellence obtained through collaboration and coordination of care between Trilogy owned pharmacy, therapy and other clinical services, according to the release.
“We at Trilogy Health Services already know the value of Synchrony as our partner; however, one of the biggest lessons learned at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic was the need in the market for better services from ancillary providers,” President and CEO of Trilogy Health Services Leigh Ann Barney said in the release. “As we formally launch Synchrony on a broader platform, we are excited to see the benefits of collaboration applied to not only our Trilogy residents but the medical community at large.”
Bufford will focus on growing the existing business, expanding into new lines of service, and leveraging technology and service line collaboration to create value added outcomes for existing and future partners, the release stated. He will also be leading the effort to raise capital from third party investors to fund Synchrony’s expansion plans.
“I am excited to be leading this next chapter for Synchrony. By housing pharmacy, therapy, and lab services under one brand, Synchrony is signaling that they can provide person-centered wellness with a collaborative approach that creates better clinical outcomes for those they serve,” Bufford said in the release.
In June 2019, Bufford announced he was stepping down as president and CEO of Trilogy more than 20 years after founding the company.
Effective Jan. 1, PCA Pharmacy officially changed its name to Synchrony Pharmacy. The company’s rebranding aligns itself more closely with the excellent clinical solutions offered under the umbrella of Synchrony Health Services.
Synchrony Pharmacy serves over 500 skilled nursing, assisted living and other health care facilities, according to the release. These facilities serve over 35,000 licensed beds in 14 states.
Synchrony Rehab provides comprehensive rehabilitation services across a vast continuum of health care environments, including over 175 skilled nursing and assisted living facilities, as well as home health.
Synchrony Lab Services will be launched In the second quarter of 2022, according to the release. This division will provide routine and stat labs including chemistry, hematology, coagulation and urinalysis testing within the long-term care setting.
The company will bring accuracy in clinical data to its clients through availability of accurate testing, responsive turnaround times and electronic health record Integration for their customers.
