We are excited to invite administrators, directors of nursing, nursing staff, therapists, and other clinical staff who provide care to the elderly and developmentally disabled persons to our educational webinar on “The Pathway to Patient Health through Pharmacogenomics.” This session aims to equip leaders in Post-Acute Care, Long Term Care, and Senior Living with tools to enhance the quality of care through precision medicine.
Key Learning Objectives:
By the end of this webinar, participants will be able to:
- Review the science of Pharmacogenomics (PGx)
- Discuss the impact of genetic variation on the increased risk of side effects
- Understand the pharmacist’s role in report interpretation
- Identify how therapists can assist with recognizing residents who would benefit from pharmacogenomic testing
Speakers:
Rob Leffler, RPh, BCGP, FASCP
Rob Leffler serves as the Vice President of Clinical Services for Synchrony Pharmacy, supporting over 30,000 residents in 15 states. With a BS in Pharmacy from Butler University and extensive experience in long-term care, Rob has been a consultant pharmacist and clinical leader, frequently presenting at various long-term care events.
Kathleen Shepler, MS, CCC-SLP
Kathleen Shepler is a dedicated speech-language pathologist with degrees from Butler University and Purdue University. With nearly two decades of experience in skilled nursing and long-term care, she now supports fellow therapists at Synchrony as a Clinical Support Specialist. Kathleen has presented on various topics related to therapy services and interdisciplinary collaboration in medication management.

- Continuing Education Credits: This program is pending approval for 1 participant hour by NAB/NCERS (Approval Code: 20250625-1-A103016-DL). It has also been reviewed by Synchrony Pharmacy and approved for 1.2 contact hours by the Kentucky Board of Nursing (Provider Number: KBN# 7-0091-1225-016).
- Requirements for CE Credit: Participants must provide their professional license number, stay for the entire course, and complete an evaluation within 2 business days. Failure to meet these requirements will result in forfeiture of CE credit. CE certificates will be emailed within 30 days of course completion.
