Program Director of the Month: April 2024

We are thrilled to announce Kristen Aquila, DPT, as our PD of the Month for April 2024! Kristen earned her Doctorate from Rutgers University in NJ and has been a practicing Physical Therapist for an impressive 20 years, specializing in Outpatient Orthopedics, Vestibular Rehabilitation, Traumatic Brain Injury, and Geriatrics.

Since joining Synchrony in November 2022 at The Inverness of Spartanburg, Kristen has been an invaluable member of our team. She has not only provided exceptional care to our residents but has also taken on the role of mentoring new staff during their onboarding process. In addition, Kristen has been instrumental in providing Telehealth services to our South Carolina facilities and acts as a reliable resource for her therapy teammates.

Outside of work, Kristen is passionate about animal welfare and volunteers her time with the Spartanburg Humane Society, raising awareness and educating the community about responsible pet ownership. She also actively participates in 5Ks and other athletic events to maintain her personal health and wellness goals.

Kristen’s dedication to her work and her colleagues has not gone unnoticed. Here are just a few of the kind words her peers had to say about her:

“Kristen is a huge asset to Synchrony Rehab. She not only manages her department with ease but also provides optimal treatment for her residents. Her upbeat personality, quick wit, and ability to balance her responsibilities with humor and grace make her a joy to work with. Kristen consistently meets deadlines, achieves financial success, and effectively communicates with facility and Synchrony leadership and staff.”

“I met Kristen on my first day at Synchrony Rehab, and she made my first few days an enjoyable experience! Since then, she has always been there to answer my questions, address concerns, and provide resources as needed. Kristen is a great PD and deserves recognition for her willingness to help me and others on a daily basis!”

“Kristen is a fantastic therapist to work with. Her energy with the residents is amazing, and she has a remarkable ability to make even the most reluctant residents engage in exercise and tasks. Kristen is always willing to lend a helping hand to other facilities when they need Telehealth support. She goes above and beyond for her residents and staff, often bringing in treats for holidays and ‘just because.’ Kristen’s big heart and positive attitude make her a pleasure to work with and for.”

“Kristen has been incredibly helpful to me, always making time to assist even when she’s extremely busy. She has even traveled hours away to help us when we were in desperate need. Kristen’s strong clinical skills, coupled with her ability to build rapport with residents and staff, make her truly deserving of this award!”

Congratulations, Kristen, on this well-deserved recognition! Thank you for your hard work, dedication, and for embodying the Synchrony culture every day.
